MHM's Jennifer Bradley Appointed to Historic Zoning Commission

Jennifer is excited to be a part of this important commission, which strives to integrate new development sensibly within historic districts.

The City of Knoxville Historic Zoning Commission encourages the preservation of historic sites and areas and reviews applications for construction and demolition within designated historic zones.

As Covid-19 continues to be a concern, MHM is remaining steadfast in our dedication to the health and safety of employees, while delivering quality projects to our clients.

While many are continuing to work remotely, companies are making plans for office adjustments as more people head . At MHM, we have taken measures including health screenings, additional dividers between workstations, and protocols for social distancing within the office. In addition to these short-term solutions, we are taking this opportunity to rethink the way we design spaces for the long term. 

Throughout our industry, . Not only will the pandemic undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the way our spaces are designed, but also the way we interact with both our work area and each other.

PROGRESS CONTINUES - THE RESEARCH OPERATIONS SUPPORT CENTER

We’re excited to see continued progress on several of our projects, including The Research Operations Support Center (ROSC). The ROSC building is a design-build project on the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) campus, with as the contractor. The one-story building is designed to house the protective forces and fire department for the ORNL campus.

The building is designed to house all necessary response features for both the protective forces and fire department, including: locker rooms, fitness room, showers, open office areas, kitchen with dining and lounge, and apparatus bay for emergency response vehicles with small maintenance area. The entry to the building also has display areas for small artifacts. The building façade is handsomely designed with brick, large windows allowing natural light, and two colors of fiber cement panels corresponding to the interior program. Construction is expected to be complete in August of this year.

Elkmont wins AIA East Tennessee Honor Award

MHM was delighted to receive the prestigious Honor Award for their work on Elkmont Exchange Brewery & Eating House at the annual AIA East Tennessee Design Awards Gala! The dynamic facade of the new brew pub acts as a symbol of new life for this quickly emerging, progressive neighborhood. Congrats team!
